Thanks to the dedication of volunteers, millions of trees are planted each year. Volunteering is a rewarding way to meet new people, learn new skills, and contribute to projects that will shape the landscape for generations.
Whether you're looking to improve your local area, volunteer solo or with friends, or organise a corporate tree planting event, we’ll help you connect with a project that values your support.
Tree planting season runs from November to March, but we also often have tree care opportunities on our planting sites during the summer months—a great way to stay involved year-round.

At Living Woods, volunteer work involves getting small woodlands back into active management along with planting trees, which will form woodlands that communities will enjoy for years to come.
All of their volunteer work contributes to support wildlife and increase biodiversity. By ensuring the health of woodlands and creating more of them, they are actively tackling climate change by helping to lock in carbon from the atmosphere.
Working in small teams outdoors, the sessions are a great way to meet new people and enjoy nature.
We are also proud to partner with Northumberland Wildlife Trust who have managed a wide range of community and corporate volunteering events as part of the North East Community Forest since 2022. From hands-on tree planting days to ongoing maintenance of planting sites, they’ve helped bring together individuals, local groups, and businesses to make a real difference across the region.
Their expert coordination ensures every volunteer experience is meaningful, impactful, and enjoyable—whether you're joining as a team or as an individual.
