Who's involved

The North East Community Forest is built on partnership, and working with others is central to everything we do. It brings together seven local authorities – Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland and Northumberland – along with the North East Combined Authority (NECA) and a broad mix of charities, agencies and businesses.

Representatives from all these groups form our Steering Group, providing shared direction and coordinating activity to support delivery of the Forest Plan. By combining resources and expertise across boundaries, we can create long‑term benefits for people, nature and climate.

Other networks

We also work with a wider group of regional and national partners whose priorities align with ours. These include:

These networks strengthen our work by connecting us with wider environmental, health and community initiatives across the region.
