Who we work with

We work with many different landowners across the region, including councils, developers, farmers, smallholders and community groups, to plant trees and hedgerows on both public and private land.

Our team is here to help at every stage. We offer practical advice and expert support from across the North East Community Forest partnership.

How we support you

Our woodland officers can guide your project from the first idea right through to planting on the ground. Their expert advice helps make sure the right tree goes in the right place. In some cases, we can also provide funding to help you carry out parts of the work yourself. This gives you flexibility and control while still having our support throughout your project.

Planning and design

We’ll help create a woodland plan that meets your goals and maximises benefits for nature and people.

Stakeholder engagement

Part of a well-designed woodland is seeking the advice and approval of a range of statutory and local stakeholders. We can support this engagement process.

Regulatory approval

Depending on the scale and location of your project there may be some regulatory approvals needed. We will work with you and the relevant authorities to gain the necessary permissions needed for your project to become a reality.

Project delivery

Need help planting? We can help source trees, materials, and even help with volunteer involvement by working with local community groups.

Funding

There is currently a range of funding options available to support tree and woodland planting across the region. We’ll work with you to find the one that best fits your project and objectives.

Future management and maintenance

To ensure your woodland delivers the benefits identified we will look wherever possible to create a further package of support and guidance.
