England's Community Forests

The North East Community Forest is one of the fifteen that make up England’s Community Forest network. Each forest is unique, but we all share the same goal; bringing trees and people together to create healthy, resilient places for both nature and communities.

For over 30 years, these forests have transformed landscapes around towns and cities, creating new woodlands and revitalising existing ones for people and wildlife.

Together, England’s Community Forests form the country’s largest environmental regeneration initiative, putting trees and woodlands at the heart of vibrant, sustainable communities.

The Community Forest Trust is a UK based charity that supports, enables, and champions the work of England’s Community Forests. It works to promote and support the development of community forestry initiatives across England.
